After spending the last 6 months in the Gold Coast Queensland on Fools Gold I had made my way to Sydney to start production on Baz Luhrmann's 'Australia'. Now with a better understanding of what the props department actually did I started to up my skills and move my way up the ranks gaining the title 'Props Assistant'.

Unfortunately this is all the photos that exist from my time in the props department. We had made hundreds of ammo crates, furniture, weapons, dead animals, Lilli pads, vehicle interiors and I'm sure much much more..

I have many fond memories working with this team and building friendships that I still cherish today. A fond memory I had was when Geoff Naylor from the vehicles department asking if there was any vehicle that they could drive me around the movie lot in what would it be? I replied "the biggest one of course". Geoff then proceeded to drive me to the local café in a WW2 truck. I jumped out the back and got my bacon and egg roll.
